A clash among BJP and TMC laborers on Sunday left eight people injured in Dumrut town in Birbhum area where polling is in progress, police said.
Three laborers from the two sides were captured, they said.
BJP has asserted all the injured as their supporters.
Pressure additionally won at Sian town under Nanoor voting demographic in Birbhum and at Kankartala town under Dubrajpur voting public with the Forward Bloc alleging that their operators were undermined by the Trinamool Congress.

Reports from north Bengal, where surveys are being held in six areas of Alipurduar, Jalpaiguri, Darjeeling, Uttar Dinajpur, Dakshin Dinajpur, Malda other than Birbhum in South Bengal, said non-functioning EVMs caused delays in beginning the polling procedure as voters held up persistently in line.

The climate being overcast notwithstanding gave the voters relief in north Bengal.
